I am taking the time to put together this page because I want the Sportster XR1200 to be built and I believe the XR1200 is a bike that Harley should build.
I am into the naked retro style bike (I own a Kawi ZRX1200R), and some people are calling them board track racers. Well just so you know, I don't know anything about board trackers, but I know alot about naked streetbikes and streetfighters. This prototype screams it!
The premise behind the naked/streetfighter is an unencumbered muscle bike that says, actually screams, raw un-adulterated power. If you can look at the picture above and tell me that the Sportster XR1200 doesn't look mean or wicked than you need glasses. I think that this may be the reason the XR1200 may be released in Europe first, they have an appreciation for this style of bike over the pond...in fact they love them. Right now the streetfighter/naked bike scene is huge over there.
I was reading on one of the Buell/Sportster forums about the XR1200 and I'll tell you, many people don't get it. I, as a sportbike person think it's great that some of you sportster owners would buy the Sporster XR1200...but, sorry to say this, it's not about you. The company already has your business, it's me they want, and if they build this bike I WILL become a customer. So many of you sportster and Harley cruiser crowd complaining about the rearsets or the tail or the exhaust can, it is not a cruiser...it is a sportbike. Look at the features, this is stuff for the sportbike crowd, inverted Showa Forks, Four Piston Nissin Brakes and Lightweight cast wheels shod with Dunlop Qualifiers???

We hope you find this website to be a useful, information resource
that will answer all the questions you may have regarding the Sporster XR1200. I am in no way affiliated with Harley Davidson Motor Company and the opinions on these pages are purely my own, in an attempt to create grassroots support for the Sporster Xr1200 prototype so that Harley will build it.
